Netguru.Net was the original domain for Atrium Learning Center and Hader & Associates. These companies were started by Micheal Hader in 1982 in Tustin, California. The reason for two companies was that there were two distinctly different but complimentary channels for the company's services. Hader & Associates was involved with general consulting and custom software services, drawing on Hader's extensive history in implementing mainframe and minicomputer systems using then current technologies like Cobol, DiBol, RPG and so on. The PC explosion was unanticipated but ended up becoming the major segment of this business. You must remember that there was a dearth of good software for personal computers at that time. Hader & Associates eventually provided all of the PC services for customers of the IBM Product Centers, which were later sold off to Nynex. Under Nynex, the centers failed and were gone in a couple short years. The other channel that Atrium Learning Center operated was technical training. Starting with classes taught by Micheal Hader at California State University, Long Beach in 1980, an emerging demand developed for many types of classes. The CSULB program added more and more classes each semester and by 1986 over 40 different offerings were in the mix, along with three different certificate programs. Atrium also developed relationships with PC retailers such as MicroAge and Inacom and provided classes in their stores across southern California. Most of these classes were on popular PC software programs such as Lotus 1-2-3, Microsoft Word, MS-DOS and others. In 1985, Hader started offering higher-level seminar courses through Data-Tech Institute. These courses were designed to address niches that were not being offered in the typical computer store or collegiate program. Early courses were on topics such as Advanced Lotus 1-2-3 Macros, Programming Using dBase III and Understanding PC Technologies. As demand for PC-based networks grew, the courses shifted into courses on Novell NetWare, Microsoft Lan Manager, Microsoft Windows Troubleshooting, WAN Design and Implementation and so forth. An estimated 30,000 people attended courses developed and taught by Atrium Learning Center over a 10-year period. As a complimentary effort, Micheal Hader authored several books starting with Mastering NetWare published by Addison-Wesley in 1986. This was the first major book on NetWare. He went on to author or co-write seven other titles between 1987 and 1994. He also wrote all of the courseware listed below. Netguru.Net was the domain that the company used to publish other materials such as courses that were no longer being marketed, used as a download site for seminar offerings. Atrium Learning Center and Hader & Associates have gone by the wayside at this point but the domain remains popular and is self supporting due to the relationship with Amazon.com. It remains dedicated to bringing technology information to it's visitors, as well as anything else that might be interesting. Micheal Hader is now the Director of Information Technologies at Odom's Tennessee Pride Sauasage, Inc. in Nashville, TN. His opinions and projects are still of interest and he has had the following citations while working for Tennessee Pride:
